Key Principle: DocScan Pro processes your scanned documents, OCR text recognition, and PDF utilities directly on your device. We do not transmit or inspect your personal documents on remote servers without your explicit action.
1. Information We Access & Collect
Camera: Used exclusively when you scan physical documents, receipts, whiteboards, or ID cards to produce digital scans.
Storage & Media: Used to import existing PDF files or images for editing, signing, or converting, and to save generated PDF documents locally to your device.
Device & Usage Data: Non-personally identifiable diagnostic and usage analytics (e.g., app crashes, feature usage frequencies) collected via Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics to improve app stability.
Local Network (WiFi Transfer): When you activate the "PC Connect / WiFi Transfer" feature, a local HTTP server is launched solely within your local Wi-Fi network to allow downloading files to your browser. No data leaves your local network.
2. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) & Machine Learning
DocScan Pro uses Google ML Kit for on-device document boundary detection and text recognition (OCR). The OCR models run directly on your hardware; your images and recognized text are not sent to any cloud server for recognition.
If you choose to use optional PVSoft Cloud synchronization features (such as profile avatar, shared document links, or rewards):
Your account identifier and authentication token are secured using industry-standard encryption protocols.
Files you explicitly select for cloud transfer are stored temporarily in your private storage space.
4. Advertising & Purchases
In-App Purchases (IAP): Handled securely by Google Play Billing / Apple StoreKit. We never see or store your credit card or financial credentials.
Advertisements: We use Google AdMob and certified ad partners to deliver relevant advertisements in the free tier. These partners may collect anonymized advertising identifiers (AAID/IDFA) in compliance with platform policies.
5. Data Security
We employ modern encryption standards (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS) for all network communication between the app and our servers (office.pvsoft.click). Local files remain protected within the application's secure storage sandbox.
